Mini Golf Rules
Mini Golf Rules That You Have To Keep In Mind
There's no doubt about it - mini golf is one of the hottest and most admired sports nowadays. And it's not really surprising why. Think about it - you can have a mini golf course at your backyard and the whole family can have fun with it no matter what time of the day.
However, before you jump into the mini-golf craze, you must know the rules first. The last thing you want to happen is to be spanked left, right, and center just because you don't know the rules.
So without further adieu, here are the rules in mini golf:
- Mini golf requires you to play the ball from the tee and straight into the hole in one shot. Yes, it requires a lot control and precision from the player.
- The players need to start with the first hole and will move on to the next one.
- Every stroke is counted as a point. If, after six strokes, the ball hasn't been holed, another point is added. With that in mind, the highest possible score for any hole and player is 7 points. The player who has the lowest total stroke points is declared as the winner.
- If, after striking the ball, it doesn't go beyond the red line, you MUST start and strike it again from the tee. On the other hand, if the ball goes beyond the red line, then you'll play at the point where the ball has stopped.
- However, there are playing fields or courses where there are no red lines. If this is the case, in every stroke, you must always play from the tee. Either you make it in shot or you start all over again.
Now, these are just a handful of the general rules in playing mini-golf. Knowing them is enough if you want to play mini-golf for pure entertainment. On the other hand, if you want to play with the pros or if you're planning to compete in a mini-golf national championship, grabbing a mini-golf handbook is in order!
National Mini-Golf Championship for 4 years was a program produced by PGA Tours Production which was closely watched and followed by 63 million people. That shows how popular minigolf can be.
